Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working with small folk groups. The track was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the song for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential after hearing it first. The song was recorded just two weeks following the Washington D.C. performance.
